Pipe Filling with Water Sealant
HyperFlex is an excellent material for use as a filler in situations where an abandoned pipe must be plugged or filled. The most important step in this application is to plug the pipe using rags, a cardboard form or other means in order to give the urethane something to push against and expand outward towards the pipe wall. Once the far end of the pipe is plugged, so must the near end, leaving room to inject the HyperFlex (a 5 gallon pail for big jobs, 300ml tube if all you need is a plug in the end). Starting as close to the far end as possible, begin to introduce the material at a rate consistent with the volume to be filled. As a rule of thumb, one 300ml HyperFlex tube will fill a void with a volume of 1/3 of a cubic foot. At the other extreme, a 5 gallon pail will fill about 17 cubic feet of void space.
Grouting the Annulus Space in a Pipe within a Pipe
Follow the above instructions for pipe filling. It is important that the HyperFlex be confined in the annular space by use of a gasket or plug.
